Step 3: How to Get a Recommendation Letter for CSC Scholarship
Hello friends, as you know, we are working on a complete CSC Scholarship guide. In previous steps, we covered how to prepare a professional CV and how to email a Chinese professor to get an acceptance letter. In this step, we will focus on how to obtain a recommendation letter from your professors, which is one of the most important documents for your application.
- Step One: How to prepare a professional CV that attracts Chinese professors.
- Step Two: How to email a Chinese professor and request an acceptance letter.
Why is a Recommendation Letter Important?
A recommendation letter strengthens your scholarship application and proves your academic abilities. For CSC Scholarship, you must have a recommendation letter from your professor or associate professor. Please note that a letter from an assistant professor is usually not accepted. While some students have been admitted with it, many universities reject applications if the letter comes from an assistant professor. To be on the safe side, always follow the official guidelines.
Can You Use a Previous Recommendation Letter?
Yes, you can use last year’s recommendation letter. However, it is strongly recommended to get a latest and updated version. Submitting an old letter may give the university a reason to reject your application. Always try to use the most recent version available.
Is a Professor’s Stamp Necessary?
A stamp on the recommendation letter is not mandatory, but it can make your application stronger. If your professor can provide a stamped copy, that will add credibility to your documents. If not, a signed recommendation letter is still valid.
Color vs Black and White
Your recommendation letter should always be in color. Many students faced objections last year because their letters were submitted in black and white. A colored scan looks more professional and increases your chances of acceptance.
Recommendation Letter Formats
We are providing you with three sample formats for a recommendation letter. You can choose any of these formats or use the one provided by your professor. Both options are acceptable as long as the letter includes your academic performance, achievements, and potential.
